Today I am in the spotlight over at the Winnie & Walter blog!!! *wiiii*
I am very proud of the opportunity and will do posts over at their blog this month.
For this post I have made a few male cards, at least that was my intention. Fathers’ day is in June in US (in Sweden as late as November), also it is more of a challenge for me to create this type of cards. I have used my embossing folders in a slightly different way and used them to create colored backgrounds. I really enjoy playing with inks of different kinds and the embossing folders are perfect to create your own personal touch to a project. The versatility is really great!
The first card is made by fully color in the embossing folder top side and run it through the big shot or similar. I used different colors of mini distress inks and dotted directly to the surface of the folder, the paper is aquarelle paper of 300 gr. Once happy with the colors, I sprayed with mini mister to get the colors to blend. Next step is to emboss in the machine. Afterwards, I added some perfect pearl to create some glow. To complete the card I embossed one more paper without the coloring and added the lovely word dies The Big, the Bold and you, the small ‘to’ stamp is from the stamp set with the same name. The card is intended for a student of engineering, why I also added a few gear elements.
For this card, I colored only the pattern of the embossing folder, (most of the time the reverse side of the folder). This gives a more subtle pattern and is very suitable for clean and simple cards. I never ran it through the machine, I only let the colored paper dry. Also this time I used a few different colors to create some life to the pattern. I utilized The Big, The Bold and Friends stamp set as well as the corresponding cutaway set. I actually cut away the s in ‘friends’ to ‘friend’ since I found that more suitable for the occasion.
Lastly I made one more CAS card with the same technique as the previous card, just a different layout and with some embellishment. I used the die set The Big, the Bold and Party cutaways and colored it into an ombre effect with distress inks. I added a layer of Glossy Accent for a 3D-effect of the cut word.
I hope you’ll come back to visit soon again, thanks for reading this long post!

All three of your cards are fantastic. I had forgotten about the colored embossing folder technique. Thanks for reminding me.
